August 19,2020 11:00

One Planet opens a newly renovated high-tech office in the city’s business center – Yerevan Plaza – with plans to double its Armenia tech workforce in 2020.

YEREVAN, Armenia, August 19, 2020 — One Planet Group, a California-based technology and media company, opens its newest global office for its One Planet Studios division that provides technology, product development, and design services inside Yerevan Plaza Business Center at 9 Saint Grigor Lusavorich Street following a state-of-the-art renovation.

The progressive and innovative company currently employs 36 Armenian engineers, writers, designers and specialists – 20 of whom are women. One Planet hopes to add 30 more full-time positions by the end of 2020.

“We are really excited about our presence in Armenia and plan to grow our employee base significantly in the next few months,” said One Planet CEO Payam Zamani. “Armenia is emerging as a tech force in the world and there is extraordinary talent here. We’ve been so warmly welcomed and our experience operating in Yerevan, so far, has been exceptional. We’ve been able to complete many technical projects in a short amount of time thanks to the great minds, who have already joined our team.”

One Planet’s new office is located on the third floor of Yerevan Plaza Business Center, which is equipped with advanced building engineering systems and technologies in line with European standards, providing staff with a maximum world-class work environment. One Planet’s office sits across from the Italian Embassy and overlooks English Park and the Yerevan 2800th Anniversary Park.

The four-month renovation resulted in One Planet’s large open-concept office to be a welcoming, collaborative space, complete with a kitchen and relaxation zone.

The office is under the direction of Edward Manasyan, a serial entrepreneur and attorney, who founded several startup companies and was the CEO of software firm WebiHub Ltd.

“One Planet recognized early the potential for innovation here in Armenia,” said Manasyan, One Planet Studios, Armenia’s general manager. “Armenia was once the center of innovation in the Soviet Union and the drive to invent and build has come back quickly within the past few years.

We look forward to becoming a driving force in One Planet Group now that we have an official presence in Armenia.”

One Planet takes its social responsibility seriously, making sure all of its business decisions will have only a positive impact on the community.

“One Planet was built with an ethos of giving back to the community in meaningful ways, not just in creating jobs,” said Zamani. “Our goals are to develop several long-term educational programs for young people interested in technology.”

One Planet is working with the Aghunik Development Center to tailor a long-term program to train the youth in tech, free of charge – the training is expected to be provided to youth 12 to 15 years of age – and offered by One Planet’s senior technical staff. Well-tailored courses will be offered to the youth to equip them with useful skills needed for future professional development.
