On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (2000), an information brochure on this topic was published, presenting the first National Action Plan of the Republic of Armenia.
The implementation of the “Women, Peace and Security” agenda promotes women’s participation in conflict prevention, resolution and recovery efforts. The National Action Plan is an important instrument enabling the state to implement the provisions and objectives of the Resolution.
Peace, security and human rights are important components of Armenia’s political agenda.
The National Action Plan covers all these areas within the context of universality of human rights, attaches great importance to the involvement of women in all cycles of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, draws attention to the problems of people living in conflict zones, and offers solutions to ensure the security and human rights protection of the affected population.
