On 24 August Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan paid tribute to the memory of Hero of Artsakh Ashot Ghoulyan (Bekor) laying flowers to the pedestal of the monument perpetuating the memory of the hero in the same-name park of the capital.
The first military unit led by Ashot Ghoulyan had participated in numerous military actions and as a result, dozens of Armenian settlements occupied by the enemy had been released. He died on 24 August 1992 during the liberation of Drmbon village of the Martakert region.
