EU NEIGHBOURS. On 21 August, the EU provided the State Customs Service of Ukraine with 200 laptops, as well as video conferencing equipment, as part of its COVID-19 response in the country.
The equipment will help to reduce operational and travelling costs, allowing for safe communication and coordination between customs officers, and with other State agencies and international entities, during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
The highly decentralised structure of the State Customs Service requires secure and high-quality channels of communication. Furthermore, this assistance will ensure capacity building and training for staff, as well as enhanced operational efficiency during the pandemic.
This assistance has been provided as part of the EU Public Finance Management Support Programme (EU4PFM).
