‘Society needs to stand up, if Pashinyan thinks he can succeed through destruction, he’s wrong’: Margarit Yesayan

August 31,2020 17:39

“Pashinyan, his health minister, and his government are to blame for the over 1,000 deaths due to the coronavirus. Undoubtedly, they need to be held responsible,” former Republican Party of Armenia deputy Margarit Yesayan said during a meeting with journalists at the Hayeli press club.

According to her, several countries did not outline severe restrictions due to the coronavirus, such as Belarus, where the number of deaths is approximately 600. However, the country did not go under lockdown. “But over 1,000 people died here because of our incompetent government. Several hospitals have already announced that their coronavirus units are closing, meanwhile, the coronavirus patients in Gyumri are being transported to Yerevan. People are worried because they suddenly found out about it. They are worried about why they are being transported and why no one previously informed them. This “laziness” is deliberate.”

Margarit Yesayan said that Pashinyan will not achieve anything by going to villages or making people love him because people already understand that quarantine is simply theatrical. “They no longer believe in Nikol Pashinyan. The government once called the coronavirus a war, but now the Prime Minister is going on vacation and posting photos with emojis. I think that society needs to stand up. You can consider this to be a call. I do not believe that this can continue for long. All structures are falling apart. If Pashinyan thinks he can succeed through destruction, he’s wrong. Society will stand up at some point. This cannot continue.”

She said, “When Pashinyan was given the title of Prime Minister by pro-Soros groups, members of the LGBT community, and sectarians, and the seizure of power took place, he did not promise anyone that he would be giving children sweets. He came to make a change, and he said that he was going to start a revolution, which turned out to be an anti-revolution. He is falsifying the truth and a 30-year history. He believes that the world revolves around him, but, thankfully, some people’s eyes have already opened. I am shocked that some people still support this craziness and this movie. I hope that a beautiful autumn awaits us, and people will be more aware this autumn.”

Yesayan also thinks that new traditions have been forming over the past two years. People are being divided into us vs. them and people who revolted vs. people who didn’t. These bad intentions, unfortunately, continue. “This is being done deliberately. The concept of “divide and conquer” is at play here. He is trying to divide society into groups, but anyone whose eyes are open has seen the truth. No matter what this government does, no matter how much it tries to flatter the public by seeming kind, going to villages, and giving children and old people candy, this kind of hypocrisy will no longer work.”

Margarit Yesayan also said that third President Serzh Sargsyan has started to give press conferences, and he will soon be answering some difficult questions.
