On September 2, at 19:38 an emergency call was received to Regional crisis management center that a “VAZ-2121” car had run off the roadway and rolled into the gorge near “Avantguard Karbi” recreation area: there were casualties.
One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.
It turned out that the “VAZ-2121” car (driver Karen H. born in 1990) ran off the roadway and rolled about 70 meters into the gorge.
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene Srbuhi H. (born in 2014) was transferred to the medical center of Ashtarak town, then to “Surb Astvatsamayr” Medical Center and Hamlet H. was transferred to the “Armenia” Republican Medical Center.

The rescuers approached the driver and Susanna A. (born in 1961) to the ambulance by stretcher: the casualties were hospitalized to the medical center of Ashtarak town, where they died without regaining consciousness. The doctors assessed Hamlet H.’s health condition as serious but stable and Srbuhi H.’s as satisfactory.
The rescuers alongside with citizens brought the dead body of Srbuhi H. (born in 1961) out of the gorge, about ten meters far from the car, disconnected the automotive battery and closed the gas valve of the car.
