Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went on a working visit to the Tavush region to meet with residents of border villages. A citizen from the Chinari village who was wounded by an Azerbaijani UAV on July 16th presented his complaints to the Prime Minister.
“I have not received any government assistance until now,” the citizen complained. The governor of Tavush explained that the government offered him 1 million AMD in assistance, but he rejected it. The citizen explained that he rejected it due to the fact that he did not trust their representative. This is when the conversation between the Prime Minister and this individual ended.
Nikol Pashinyan asked citizens to present him with general issues that the village is facing, not personal ones. Then, he spoke to the governor. “Let’s talk about what has been done since the skirmishes in July.” The governor said that two homes were renovated, one home was built from scratch, and work was done on 12 other homes.
One resident of Chinari said that the village has major problems due to shelling that took place in the past, which have not been addressed yet. The Prime Minister said that he is aware of the situation, but it is impossible for the government to eliminate the effects of shelling that took place in the 1990s within a month. Then, he said, “We can resolve issues anywhere, not just in border villages, and people will stand five meters away and ask why we didn’t resolve their issue. This is the wrong logic to have.”
