Armenians in Moscow, Krasnodar, and Glendale are not protesting that they want to return to Armenia. Even people who only have Armenian citizenship prefer to remain there (sometimes under suspicious legal grounds), even if those places have only a somewhat understandable future in terms of their careers and their children’s education due to the coronavirus. Meanwhile, those people were making emotional and patriotic posts on social media two years ago, saying that they never returned to Armenia “because of Serzh.” It seems that the reasons are not as “romantic” as they are materialistic. And, of course, no one will rebuke them for not leaving everything to return to Armenia. Of course, I cannot blame those who want to return to Russia. They simply need to understand that the Armenian government is unable to help them.
