September 10,2020 21:16

EU NEIGHBOURS . The Black Sea is twice as polluted as the Mediterranean – these are the findings of a large-scale monitoring recently carried out by the EU project ‘Improving environmental monitoring in the Black Sea – selected measures’ (EMBLAS Plus). The EU Delegation to Ukraine has shared a Facebook post and an article presenting the findings of this monitoring.

The project also involves work on cleaning the coastal areas in Ukraine, which includes helping to process plastic into cobblestones, sorting waste on the beaches in the Kherson region, and cleaning the Kinburn Spit in the Mykolayiv region.

In addition, the EU has funded a modern laboratory in Vyshgorod which will detect harmful compounds in the Dnipro River.
