‘No one wins if Mr. Julfalakyan resigns’: Mkhitar Hayrapetyan

September 14,2020 23:23

There weren’t any obvious disagreements between Arsen Julfalakyan and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, a deputy from My Step and the chair of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Diaspora, Youth, and Sport, spoke about this in an interview with journalists in parliament. He was referring to the fact that My Step deputy Arsen Julfalakyan had announced his intention to resign from parliament.

According to Hayrapetyan, there have been many issues that are being discussed with executive party members. Their argument solely has to do with ideology. “In this case, I believe that the dreams our compatriots had for several decades have come true. There is healthy cooperation between parliament and the government. Mr. Julfalakyan has already said everything. I would not allow myself to say anything more than what Mr. Julfalakyan has already said. I hope that he will change his mind. I believe his resignation would not be good for the sector or for the committee. He is and has always been one of the best people in sport, as well as a wonderful deputy, which he has proved during the last 1.5 years of service. I do not believe that anyone will win if Mr. Julfalakyan resigns.”

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan has spoken to Julfalakyan and asked him to change his mind. “This is in no one’s best interests. I am sad because of all this.”
