EU NEIGHBOURS . Last week, the EU and the World Health Organization (WHO) delivered 100 oxygen concentrators, 20 electrocardiographs and 10,000 PCR tests for COVID-19 to the Armenian Ministry of Health.
The supplies, procured by the WHO with EU support, will increase the country’s testing capacity and help patients recover from complications from COVID-19. The equipment will be provided to Armenia’s national laboratory and healthcare institutions
The oxygen concentrators are essential for treating patients with low blood oxygen levels due to COVID-19. The electrocardiographs will help health professionals monitor the hearts of patients in intensive care units. Meanwhile, the PCR tests will help Armenian authorities to detect, isolate and manage COVID-19 patients. The WHO-approved tests can produce accurate results in just 75 minutes.
