The Assassination in Karvachar: documentary film

The “Public Relations And Information Center” of Staff of The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia presents a documentary “The Assassination in Karvachar” in frames of the “Ordinary Genocide” project. The documentary can be found on Karabakhrecords Youtube channel.

“Murder in Karvachar” represents the story of the murder of a 17-year-old Karvachar resident Smbat Tsakanyan by Azerbaijani saboteurs in July of 2014.

The documentary presents video footages, interviews conducted with the relatives of the killed teenager, eyewitnesses and representatives of state institutions of Artsakh, as well as further details to the criminal case that were never presented to the wide audiences up to this day.

“The Assassination in Karvachar” is available in 3 languages – Armenian, Russian, English. The Russian version was premiered on March 16 at an international conference in Stepanakert, and the Armenian version was broadcast on Armenian Public Television on July 24.

“Ordinary Genocide” project was initiated by the “Public Relations And Information Center” of Staff of the PM of Armenia (previously – the Staff of the President of RA). Since November 2009, a series of documentaries have been created in several languages about the events in Sumgait, Baku, Maragha, Operation Ring, and April War of 2016. As part of the project, the center developed Karabakhrecords.com website, publishing, republishing and translating a number of books. Within the frameworks of the “Ordinary Genocide” initiative, the center also published brochures in 3 languages (Armenian, Russian, and English) containing detailed information about the above-mentioned events.
