It is important to establish a 30-year strategy for changes in Armenia in order to understand what we want, where we are going, and how we imagine Armenia in the year 2050. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about this today during a livestream while presenting the strategy for changes in Armenia until the year 2050.
The Prime Minister presented the strategy at Matenadaran to members of the government, university students, and school students.
According to him, the strategy has and must have a working purpose. “First, why is it important for us to have a strategy like this? I will attempt to answer this question from today’s perspective, and let’s try to look at today’s reality from the perspective of someone 30 years ago. Did we truly think about how we would imagine Armenia in the year 2020 at the time? We must sadly mention that there was no such strategy on a national level. This perhaps is the reason for the many problems we are facing today,” Pashinyan said, noting that this strategy will include an ideology, perspective, and then actions. “And along with those actions, there will be specific decisions from the government. To be specific, from this moment on, any decision made by the government needs to be in favor of implementing these ideas and perspectives. Any decision that we make must clearly reflect the action that will serve the idea mentioned in our strategy. In order to refrain from political gain, a question might arise about why this government is presenting its strategy for the year 2050. Does this mean that the government believes that it must have immunity until the year 2050? Of course not because we don’t see the strategy for changes in Armenia as a government activity, but instead as a national movement.”
According to the Prime Minister, this not only includes changes in the national government system, but huge changes need to be made in society among each and every one of us. “We hope that we can reach high levels of development as a result of this dream and changes in mentality.” Nikol Pashinyan assured that these changes are based on our national values, national goals, and the demands of the public.
