Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented his strategy until the year 2050 at Matenadaran. According to him, the population of Armenia needs to reach at least 5 million, 1.5 million jobs need to be created so that poverty can be eliminated through employment, the GDP needs to rise 20 times, and the average salary needs to increase seven times.
“Until the year 2050, we need to have the most prepared army, one of the top ten most effective intelligence services in the world, turn studying into our national lifestyle, have at least 3 Armenian universities be included on the list of the best 200 universities in the world, and turn Armenia into a country of the high-tech industry. We need to have at least 5 technological countries worth at least 10 billion dollars, and at least 10,000 working startups,” the Prime Minister listed.
He continued, “We need to have a healthy environment, as well as a climate-resistant and energy-efficient Armenia. We need to win 25 Olympic gold medals. Our soccer team needs to either be the World or European Champion. We need someone to win the individual world championship for chess. The number of tourists in Armenia needs to reach 15 million.”
According to Nikol Pashinyan, the most important idea is the strategy for national security. He mentioned Armenian national values in his preamble. “The first value is Armenian statehood, which gives us the opportunity to make decisions about our future. The second is education because education is the only tool that gives us the opportunity to recognize our problems and find solutions. The next value is the individual, since individuals are the only ones who can form families, societies, people, and states. And finally, our fourth value is work.”

Pashinyan said that our national goals are at the basis of these ideas. “The first of these goals is Armenian statehood and its eternity. The next is the value of the Armenian citizen. Why do we have statehood? It is for the prosperity, security, freedom, and happiness of Armenian citizens. The next goal is the ability for Armenians to maintain their identity and development, including the restoration of national identity among those who have lost their sense of national consciousness due to the significant increase in the level of knowledge of the Armenian language among Armenians and the increase in the number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia.”
