Battles took place along the entirety of the Artsakh border last night, especially in the northern and southern parts. The Armenian side was able to retrieve new positions, but the Azerbaijanis did not stop. They tried to launch counterattacks in several places, but they were pushed back.
Representative of the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan spoke about this during a briefing at the Armenian United Infocenter. He also informed that Azerbaijan has restarted its attacks by utilizing artillery this morning. “Our Armed Forces are currently fighting stubborn and heroic battles.”
In addition, Azerbaijan is targeting civilians. “They are currently firing on Martakert.”
Hovhannisyan denied Azerbaijani news that the Armenian side has 100 casualties. “We have almost 200 wounded, some of whom have been taken to Yerevan. They are receiving the proper treatment. Our healthcare system is on its feet.” Regarding the return of Azerbaijani bodies, Hovhannisyan said that the Azerbaijani side has not appealed to Armenia with such a request. There are several dozens of Azerbaijani soldiers’ bodies on the Armenian side.

Regarding high-ranking Azerbaijani officials being Armenian prisoners, Hovhannisyan said that no living soldiers are prisoners, but since there are many bodies, it is difficult to confirm or deny anything.
When asked about when it will be possible to use the Iskanders, Hovhannisyan said that he is unable to provide information about that because it is a military strategy. “We will use them when it is necessary.”
Thousands of people are volunteering to fight, but Hovhannisyan asked that volunteers appeal to the military commissariats so that everything goes according to procedure. If things are not organized, problems will arise. “There are no mass evacuations of civilians,” the MoD representative said.
He also asked that people avoid calling soldiers in Artsakh at all. “That is having an impact on the control system and networks because they are being overwhelmed. When you try to call soldiers and they answer, you are putting their lives in danger. UAVs and artillery are able to target our soldiers. Please do not call them so that our networks can operate effectively.”
