The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia informs that recently there have been frequent cases of misinformation spread by Azerbaijan and Turkey with hacked accounts of Armenian news websites, Armenian social network users, as well as fake pages created under Armenian names.
In particular, a fake page of the RA Public Television (called Armenian Soldier) has been created on the social network www.facebook.com, the aim of which is to spread panic among the population of the Republic of Armenia and the Artsakh Republic by spreading false news.
There are also Armenian-language Azerbaijani websites (in .az domain) on the Internet that are designed for the Armenian audience and spread obviously false information again in order to create panic.
It is necessary not to use such sources of information, to be vigilant, not to pass such information to each other, taking into account the fact that their dissemination is exclusively aimed at undermining our national unity and weakening the state.
The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia informs that using all the tools provided to it by the legislation, it will pursue those who spread false news, find provocateurs dividing the society, and hold them accountable with full force of the law.
At the same time, we urge to strictly follow the requirements of N 1586-N decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia of September 27, 2020 “On declaring martial law in the Republic of Armenia”.
