‘Indigenous groups are growing active in Azerbaijan’: Speaker of Artsakh National Assembly

October 06,2020 17:15

“Lezgins, Tats, Kurds, and Talysh people living in Russia especially responded to our calls. They are also growing active in Azerbaijan. The Lezgins are protesting and saying that their children are being taken to the frontlines, where many of them have died,” the speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh, Artur Tovmasyan, said in a briefing with journalists regarding the indigenous people in Azerbaijan, whose independence President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan expressed his support for.

“Talysh activists have also made similar statements. The political leadership of Azerbaijan is spreading hatred towards the Talysh people, although they have lived among the other groups for centuries. The Talysh people said that they do not have any enemies in the region,” Artur Tovmasyan said.
