On October 6, the RA National Assembly began the work of the regular sittings. The MPs honoured the memory of the brave sons who died for the defense of the Motherland in one-minute silence.
The RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan informed that, according to the N 6 and N 7 Protocols of the Central Electoral Committee, the next candidates of the first part of the national electoral list of My Step alliance of parties Gor Yeranyan and Narek Ghahramanyan became RA NA deputies, receiving the mandates of Arsen Julfalakyan and Armen Pambukhchyan, who were elected deputies and terminated the powers early.
Gor Yeranyan and Narek Ghahramanyan were sworn-in at the NA sitting in accordance with the constitutional law the NA Rules of Procedure.
The Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan proposed the NA Speaker to organize a meeting with the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss some issues related to the current situation. The NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan has considered admissible the recommendation, also noting that the relations regarding the international relations and the foreign political situation, as well as the ongoing processes are transparent and public as much as possible, but it is possible to organize a meeting in certain format with the RA Prime Minister.

After approving the agenda of the regular sittings, the parliamentarians in the first reading discussed the draft law on Making Addendum to the law on Defense presented by the RA Government.
The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan has informed that it is proposed to also include among the series of the powers of the Government in the sphere of defense the competence of approving the mobilization plan of the economy of the republic. The Deputy Minister has noted that the mobilization plan of the economy of the republic has already been worked out and has been agreed with the RA Ministry of Economy.
Aren Mkrtchyan presented the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security.
The legislative initiative on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Environmental Control, on Making Addendum to the RA Water Code, on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Atmospheric Air Protection and on Making Amendments and Addendum to the Code on the RA Lithosphere was discussed in the second reading and for completely passing it.
Afterwards the draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the law on Social Support of the Border Communities authored by the RA NA deputies Sisak Gabrielyan and Sipan Pashinyan.
It is also proposed to postpone the term of the law for three years, which will give an opportunity the residents of the communities to continue receiving compensation until 1 January 2024 for the consumed gas, electricity and irrigation water, as well as be exempted from a number of compulsory payments by law.
The RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment endorsed the draft law. The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan presented the positive opinion of the government.
As a result of voting, the legislative initiatives were passed.
The debate of the draft law on Making Addendum to the law on Defense in the second reading will be held by the NA decision after passing it in the first reading, within twenty-four hours.
