I believe that the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service did not just find out about the militants and terrorists brought to Azerbaijan by Turkey to fight in the Azerbaijani army. This has been circulating for several days. When Macron spoke about that obvious fact, Aliyev was insulted and demanded that the French president apologize. Understandably, the abilities of the Russian intelligence are much greater in the region than those of, say, French or any other country’s intelligence agency. But Moscow was silent, and the reason for that is essentially because they wanted to see how things developed on the battlefield. If Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the Jabhat al-Nusra, Firqat al-Hamza, and Sultan Murad battalions were successful at invading Artsakh and doing what they’re good at (slaughtering and decapitating people), then Russia, as well as other players in the region and internationally, would have had a different approach. But, as we have seen, an invasion is simply a fantasy. Now, we can openly speak about the danger presented by the terrorists.
