“It’s a sad fact that our enemy has already reached the type of provocation that it shells cities and villages,” the deputy mayor of Stepanakert, Suren Tamrazyan, told journalists in an interview.
He noted that all the damage and ruins in Stepanakert are being surveyed to determine the level of damage. “At the moment, all infrastructure in Stepanakert continues to work as normal, and there is no panic or issues with other conditions. Of course, if a facility is destroyed, our experts try to eliminate all the damage on-site so that they can try to maintain a level of normalcy in the city.”
Suren Tamrazyan said that all the issues with electricity have been handled, and the gas was turned off for safety reasons. “At the moment, activities are being carried out so that outages do not take place in Stepanakert over the next 1-2 days. The water supply is working on a 24/7 basis and it will not be affected in any way.”
He added that 50-60 percent of the city’s population is still in Stepanakert at the moment. Those who left the city were the elderly, children, and those who have health conditions. Residents of other parts of Artsakh also went to Stepanakert. According to Suren Tamrazyan, approximately 10 apartment buildings have been damaged in Stepanakert. There are also damaged roads, but the municipality has almost completely fixed them.
