PM receives EAEC Board Chairman Mikhail Myasnikovich

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC).

The Premier first referred to the hostilities initiated by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh with the support and direct involvement of Turkey. Nikol Pashinyan noted that as a matter of fact, Nagorno-Karabakh is today waging an anti-terrorist struggle, since several Turkey-backed terrorist groups are participating in the hostilities on the side of Azerbaijan.

On behalf of the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister Pashinyan welcomed the joint statement issued by the Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing nations, which called for an immediate return to ceasefire.

“It is crucial that the current situation did not prevent the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council from holding its regular session on October 9 in Yerevan. I am confident that we will successfully continue the ongoing constructive dialogue aimed at implementing and developing the EAEU goals,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

The EAEC Board Chairman thanked the Armenian side for organizing at a high level the Intergovernmental Council’s Yerevan meeting in the current situation.

The parties went on to discuss the main vectors and priorities for the development of integration processes within the EAEU, as well as a number of issues on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
