Comment by the Head of the MFA of the Republic of Artsakh Lragir.am Agency with Regard to the Statement of the Foreign Minister of Greece
“We welcome the statement of the Foreign Minister of Greece during the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council. “The international community, especially Turkey’s allies in the NATO, should accept and fully comprehend the truth mentioned unequivocally in the statement by Minister Dendias: “The common denominator of all problematic situation in the region – in Nagorno Karabakh, Syria, Libya, Cyprus, and in the Southeastern Mediterranean is Turkey… and Turkey is acting as the disruptor of the regional peace and stability”, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh said in his exclusive interview to Lragir.am.
Earlier, France, Russia, Canada among many others have confirmed the alarming facts of Turkey’s political and military involvement in the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
It’s been two weeks now that the international community, namely the UN Security Council, the UN Secretary General, the OHCHR, the European Union, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, including the European Court of Human Rights, the Organization of American States, as well as the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group member states (Russia, the United States and France), dozens of other countries, clergy leaders, major international human rights watchdogs, and hundreds of parliamentarians around the world have stressed the necessity to stop the hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh, to respect the human rights, to protect civilian population and to immediately resume of negotiations.

“However, Turkey continues to reject those calls, instead directing and provoking Azerbaijan to continue inhuman and genocidal actions against the people of Artsakh”, Masis Mayilian said.
The factual refusal of the Azerbaijani-Turkish forces to cease the fire clearly demonstrates that Ankara, having failed in achieving their goals and thus being not interested in ending the war and establishing a lasting regional peace, now spare no effort to prevent the implementation of the agreement on a humanitarian ceasefire, achieved with the mediation of the Russian Federation. Turkey keeps using Azerbaijan and international terrorists for achieving its expansionist geopolitical goals in the South Caucasus.
The Minister thinks the time has come for the international community to move from words to deeds, and to undertake resolute steps, including coercive, in order to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in the region. “It is necessary to stop the bloodshed, to curb Turkish expansionism in the South Caucasus, to stop the export of international terrorism into the Council of Europe area, and to end Turkey’s violations of its international commitments, including the vivid infringement of the international humanitarian law. Authoritarian leaders of Turkey and Azerbaijan have to face the international criminal tribunal”, Masis Mayilian said.
“We urge the civilized world to choose the right side of the history, and to defend through effective measures the right of the Artsakh people to live in freedom and security”, the Minister concluded.
