Turks and Azerbaijanis, the latter of which has been used as Turkey’s tool in the 20th and 21st centuries, prefer to fire upon unarmed people. And when they see that those people are able to resist, it is a surprise for them. They simply need to come to terms with the fact that they will no longer be able to enter our homes and go unpunished. They won’t be able to kill or exile unarmed people. But the fact that they attacked or are still attacking should also not come as a surprise to us. They attacked and they will attack again regardless of who Armenia’s leader is, and even regardless of whether or not there have been mistakes in our foreign policy (of course, there have been mistakes, but now is not the time to talk about them). They are attacking today and they will attack tomorrow, even if a ceasefire is agreed upon for a few days or weeks. They will attack a democratic, authoritarian, or tyrannical Armenia.
