It is the 23rd day of the war launched against Artsakh by Turkey and Azerbaijan, but international organizations, especially the EU and the UN Office in Armenia, have not made any active steps. Armenians in Armenia and other countries are protesting with the demands of condemning Turkey and Azerbaijan and forcing them to stop their aggression and war crimes.
In an interview with Aravot Daily, the president of the Yerevan Press Club and former coordinator of the Armenian national platform of the EU Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, Boris Navasardyan, believes that the international community is not prepared at the moment to make any drastic or critical steps aimed towards achieving justice.
According to Navasardyan, that is a continuation of activities aimed towards weakening international organizations, which we have witnessed over the past several years. “And, we can only say that the Armenian army and the Armenian Armed Forces are the only factors that allow the EU to save face. Because, as we have seen from history, if it weren’t for our army, the entire international community, including the EU, would have only noted their condemnation for Turkish-Azerbaijani activities. Perhaps some would have recognized the second Armenian genocide if the Armenian army were unable to carry out its task. It is the Armenian army that is winning time for the international community, including Russia, the EU, and the USA, so that the community can carry out its debt and true mission of stopping this war and having the sides return to the negotiations table. We remain the main factor: Armenia, Artsakh, and our Armed Forces.”
