Russia, France, and the United States genuinely want to stop the bloodshed, and they are taking steps within the framework of their national interests to impose a ceasefire. Iran also has no reason to benefit from battles taking place at its borders. What remains is for Turkey and its leader, Erdogan (along with his puppet, Aliyev), and his projects and ambitions. This side is the most interested in continuing the war. Erdogan can easily go against and sometimes respond bluntly to the world leaders while taking advantage of their disagreements. The world powers are not able to find ways to stop the war. What does that say? Overall, that says a lot about the global crisis, the fact that there is no longer a security system in place that can restrain the war. If the world doesn’t get its act together, an even worse war will break out tomorrow somewhere else. Another Erdogan will rise and, perhaps, destroy the world with his powerful weapons. Armenians can defend themselves. We will continue to live on our land and have our statehood. But overall, the world has become very fragile and explosive, and I believe that it’s necessary to create new rules that are based on several “updated” principles.
