A woman from Artsakh is certain: ‘My husband will come home victorious, and we will once again drink tea at our house’

November 03,2020 22:30

Artsakh and Armenia have been fighting against Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression since September 27th. Ever since, Armenia and Artsakh have lost their precious children who saved our land at the cost of their lives.

The majority of Artsakh’s residents were forced to temporarily flee their homes and seek refuge in Armenia in the homes of their brothers and sisters.

Varduhi Stepanyan is one of those people from Artsakh. She spoke about what she saw with tears in her eyes, and she prayed that the war will end soon.

“It is not something that I can describe. My heart is breaking. When the war began, we thought that it was just everyday gunfire. But when everything became more serious, I experienced true chaos,” she said.

Varduhi’s husband is at the frontlines. He sent his wife and children to Yerevan in a random car. He promised that he will return, and he will once again drink tea with his wife each evening at their house.

“He is patriotic and indescribably fearless. I had no hope that he would come to Yerevan with us. Now I am reminding myself that my husband has always done what he promised, so he will keep this promise too and come home victorious, and we will once again drink tea at our house.”
Varduhi said that there is a lot she would like to say, but her tears prevented her from doing so.

She appealed to the women whose sons, husbands, and brothers are at the frontlines. “Let’s be grateful to God that we were lucky enough to know and live with heroes.”

P.S. Varduhi Stepanyan did not wish to be photographed. She said that she wishes to only see the photos of our victorious soldiers in newspapers, websites, and social media.
