“The coronavirus is a pressing issue, but it unfortunately seems to have turned into a secondary issue because of the war, which is not good,” the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, said during a session of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, where they were discussing the 2021 state budget and the lack of hospital beds for coronavirus patients needing treatment.
Tatoyan said that his office frequently receives calls about this issue.
“We need to realize that, aside from putting our lives in danger, the issues caused by the spread of the coronavirus places a huge burden on doctors who could’ve been treating soldiers instead. It is important to follow the pandemic guidelines closely,” Tatoyan said, calling upon citizens.
