The director of the Berd Dance Ensemble and the president of the National Dance Art Union of Armenia, Karen Gevorgyan, posted about Arpi Bekyan on his Facebook page. Azerbaijan had presented Arpi as being a terrorist and a mercenary sniper, but she is, in reality, a dance teacher.
In an interview with Aravot Daily, Karen Gevorgyan said about Arpi Bekyan, “Arpi was one of our best students at the Armenian State Pedagogical University. She danced in all of my shows. Arpi is one of our active and beautiful dancers. Her modest behavior is embedded in her fearless character. When you speak to her, she is calm and gentle, but her courage is even manifested in her modesty.”

Regarding the boys from the Berd Ensemble who have been defending the Motherland since day one, Gevorgyan said, “Of my dancers, Shahen was killed. We have not received any information about Davit since October 1st. Maxim is injured and he is currently at the hospital in Abovyan. Garik is fighting, Vardan is at the frontlines… Armen Zakaryan is also there.”
He especially emphasized that he is optimistic and believes in Armenian victory. “Everything is going to be wonderful. Everything in the region is going to be resolved in our favor. I believe in this 100 percent. The enemy is going to pay for the blood of our children.”
