New opportunity for absurd debates

To begin, I must explain why I find the debate over “how many weapons have been purchased in 30 years” to be scholastic. Let me give you a “non-military” example. We did not have a television in my home when I was a child; it was an unattainable luxury. But now, we have one, and a very nice one at that. But we, as consumers of pure television content, do not need it. Now, it is solely a monitor that sometimes hooks onto a computer. Whom should I blame or praise for that? Life is moving forward, and people’s demands are changing quickly (including in the military sector, of course), especially over recent years. But why is that debate dangerous? Because it is once again another opportunity for us to blame one another, tear each other apart, doubt one another, and bring up the “old-new,” “former-present” agenda, which has become somewhat boring. That discourse is absurd and completely meaningless, and it is especially inappropriate during a war.
