The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our daily lives in ways we could have hardly anticipated. This includes the arts and how we experience them. The fate of the Segovia Circus, a circus from Guatemala stranded in Honduras due to the COVID-19 crisis, attracted the lens of Honduran photographer Vicente Colindres, who had in the past collaborated with our Delegation in Tegucigalpa. His photographs pay tribute to the resilient spirit of the members of this small circus for whom “the show must go on” became more than just an old cliché, the only way to survive in unprecedented and difficult conditions. They are also a token of the solidarity between two neighbouring countries put to the test by a pandemic. We invite you to have a virtual look at some of the photographs and celebrate the circus artists who kept performing during lockdown in Honduras in the hope for better times and a safe return home.
