‘It is important for the ministry to develop in tune with emerging challenges’: PM introduces newly appointed Minister of Emergency Situations

November 21,2020 16:10

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ministry of Emergency Situations and introduced the newly appointed Minister Andranik Piloyan. The Premier thanked outgoing Minister Felix Tsolakyan for his efforts and wished the newly appointed Minister every success in his future activities.

The Prime Minister noted that Andranik Piloyan is a newcomer in the system of emergency situations since he used to serve in the armed forces before this appointment. “But, in fact, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Rescue Service are part of the Armed Forces. In that sense, we can say that the change is not so great: similar tasks are being addressed in the Ministry of Emergency Situations.”

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations played a crucial role during the war: “The Rescue Service, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in general, should develop in tune with the emerging challenges and the new requirements based on the best practices and traditions that existed so far.”

Outgoing Minister Felix Tsolakyan thanked the Premier for cooperation and wished the newly appointed Minister every success in his duties. “When you were introducing me as a minister, I assured that I was prepared to serve the Homeland and the nation. We did our best. The past eight months were a period of hard work; the system functioned like clockwork,” Felix Tsolakyan said.

In turn, Andranik Piloyan thanked the Premier for confidence. “Since this field is new to me – I come from the army – I will strive to invest all the positive experience I have built up throughout my military career. I will possibly try to complement what Mr. Tsolakyan did during his term in office. In any case, I came here at your urging and will try to be of service to my nation and our homeland.”
