Deputy Foreign Minister participated in the meeting of the CIS Economic Council
On 9 December, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Ghevondyan, participated in the 88th meeting of the CIS Economic Council, held in the format of video conferencing.
The participants of the session exchanged views on the current issues regarding the cooperation in various areas within the CIS.
The agenda of the session of the CIS Economic Council, in line with other issues, included the cooperation among the CIS member states, agreement on the prevention of the use of counterfeit trademarks and geographical indications, as well as the drafts of the decisions of the Economic Council of the CIS on measures to develop and promote the use of natural gas as a motor fuel for vehicles in the CIS member states until 2025.
The participants of the session also discussed the programs of joint research in the field of healthcare and insurance, issues concerning the current problems in the field of innovative activities and the ways to solve them.
As a result of the session, more than a dozen decisions were made on issues related to economic, energy, agricultural and mechanical engineering.
They have also touched upon the organizational issues, particularly regarding the 89th session of the CIS Economic Council to be held on March 12, 2021 in Moscow.
