“There are circumstances here that contain state secrets, which is why I am not able to answer the question. I can say that we did begin such a process, but it would not be beneficial to implement right now,” the head of the Bright Armenia faction, Edmon Marukyan, told reporters during a briefing in response to a question about whether or not the opposition plans on bringing forth a resolution to recognize Artsakh’s independence.
“If the political unit is a responsible unit that will take responsibility for the country’s fate and this situation, we will not be able to take steps that will put anyone’s lives or processes taking place in danger. But understand that we have worked on this for approximately one month. That was a secret process, and these processes have taken place with the appropriate bodies,” Marukyan added.
