Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the National Assembly on Tuesday and met with My Step deputies. After the meeting, My Step deputy Nazeli Baghdasaryan said that the discussion was mainly supposed to be about the Electoral Code, but since there are more pressing issues on the agenda, the political team and ministers were also present, and the topics of discussion developed in a different direction. “In particular, the issues dealing with internal political issues and the situation at the border were discussed. You know that a large group of prisoners of war returned yesterday. We also discussed the logic behind the next groups and what we will do moving forward.”

Nazeli Baghdasaryan noted that, if the other factions have the desire to meet with the members of government, then the members of government will agree to it. “The initiative was on behalf of the faction.”

When asked how it happened that two villages, Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher, are now under Azerbaijani control, Nazeli Baghdasaryan responded, “In reality, in certain areas where there are still unspecified approaches as to what kind of control will be established over those areas, discussion are being held with Russian peacekeepers in so that their distribution can be in its entirety in order to rule out problems such as what we have seen over the weekend. In this regard, the Prime Minister is in direct contact with the President of Russia, and the logic behind the actions and steps being taken is being discussed. At the moment, the situation in those two villages is completely under control according to our latest information. Russian peacekeepers are currently there. These regions were disputable in the past as well.” As far as why they are disputed, Baghdasaryan said that she is not authorized to say.

Regarding the Electoral Code, Nazeli Baghdasaryan said that they are not ruling out snap elections at any phase.

As far as the issue of prisoners of war, she assured that the second group of prisoners is expected to return soon. “This will even take place in only a matter of days.”
