On December 16, at 21։36 an emergency call was received to Ararat regional crisis management center that a car accident had occurred near “Zodi” bridge in Ararat town: there was a casualty.
One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.
It turned out that “Volkswagen Touareg” car (driver Emin T. born in 1987) had run of the roadway on the bridge and appeared in the canyon on the 53rd km of Yerevan-Meghri highway, as a result the passenger Vardan Sh. died on the spot.
The rescuers moved the driver and the passengers Hovhannes B. (born in 1988) and Seryozha Kh. (born in 1992) to ambulance car. The casualties were were hospitalized in the medical center of Ararat town where the doctors assessed the health condition of the passengers as extremely serious, the driver as fair.
