On 21 December, the EU launched a twinning project to support the oversight and implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The project will be implemented by the parliaments of Greece and Italy, which will work with Armenia’s National Assembly to assist legislative drafting, oversight and overall capacity building related to the CEPA’s implementation.
Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, reiterated full support for the EU in enhancing the democratisation process of Armenia to benefit its citizens and their trust in state institutions.
Vassilis Maragos, Head of the European Commission unit responsible for Armenia, said that this twinning project is part of EU comprehensive assistance and support to reforms in Armenia and that it will also create plenty of opportunities to engage at political level, promoting parliamentary diplomacy and better knowledge of policies across the EU.
