“It pains me that someone like you is the Minister of Defense of our country,” the mayor of Sisian, Artur Sargsyan, said to the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, during his meeting with the minister in the Syunik province.
Artur Sargsyan went to the Investigative Committee on Wednesday. He went to support the mayor of Kajaran, Manvel Paramazyan. Manvel Paramazyan was taken to the Investigative Committee on Wednesday for interrogation because a complaint was filed against him.
In an interview with reporters, Artur Sargsyan explained why he said that to the minister. “We spoke for three hours. He responded to all of our questions with either, ‘I don’t know,’ or he said, ‘you’re right.’ I asked him who would maintain our security if I were to go to Kapan and come across a Turk who would force me to stop and then kill me. He said that no one can keep us safe. It was like that in 1991-1992 as well, it’s normal. That was exactly what he said. The second question we asked him was about how nothing was mentioned about Vorotan or Shurnukh in the November 9th agreement. But the Turks came a day before and said that we need to leave by 5 PM the next day. The minister said that he wasn’t aware. This means that the Prime Minister signed everything without keeping anyone informed.”
