On December 29, the Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan received Marianne Clark-Hattingh, the Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Armenia.
The meeting was also attended by Tigran Tovmasyan, the UNICEF Armenia Country Director for Disaster Risk Reduction and Ogval Benson Stanley, thr Emergency program coordinator.
The Minister highly appreciated the cooperation with UNICEF and expressed his gratitude for the implemented activities under various programs “Disaster Risk Reduction in Armenia”.
Speakers exchanged views on the existing issues and priorities in the field of disaster risk management.

Andranik Piloyan emphasized the issues related to the implemented programs, presented suggastions, especially in the field of seismic protection, roadway map guide of psychological support and rescue service response in crisis situations, expecting practical investments.
Mrs. Marianne Clark-Hattingh congratulated the Minister on his appointment to the post and reaffirmed the readiness of UNICEF to collaborate closely on the development of disaster risk management capacity and the implementation of disaster risk reduction education programs in schools, as well as expected the support of the Ministry.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister once again expressed hope for the continuation of effective cooperation, assuring that there will be many more opportunities to discuss joint activity and implement new programs.
