In response to Aravot Daily’s question of whether or not the controversy surrounding the Hayastan All-Armenia Fund will discredit the fund’s activities, the High Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, said that issues will arise if the foundation does not provide an explanation for where and how the funds will be used.
Regarding the attitudes of Armenians in the diaspora, he said that the diaspora is disappointed. “People are shocked. People are looking for explanations. They want to understand why this happened, although I think that the answer is obvious.”
Despite this, however, Sinanyan said that the diaspora’s investments in Armenia have not ceased.
He was also asked how close to reality it was to say “we will win” during the 44-day war. “Don’t ask me that question,” Zareh Sinanyan said. “Trust me, I have not received more information than you did. That is the truth. But, of course, I had a pretty good idea from informational websites that things weren’t going well for us. But I did not think that it was this bad. I didn’t think so because I did not receive such information.”
