Armen Pambukhchyan, the First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations met with Internal Security Attache of the French Embassy in Armenia Herve Jamen, who paid a study visit to Armenia for the first time. Both sides spoke with great satisfaction about the continuation of the armenian-french relations, emphasizing the importance of developing new programs in the current situation.
The issues of demining, forest firefighting, population protection, disaster risk management, psychological support, and expanding cooperation in the fields of disaster medicine were discussed.
Deputy Minister Pambukhchyan also drew attention to the need of using unmanned aerial vehicles to monitor various natural disasters, man-made hazardous hearths and satellite geodynamic surveys with GPS.
As a result of the meeting, Mr. Jamen expressed his readiness to implement the activity on the development of specific programs on the issues raised, to identify sources of funding for their implementation.
