“The classics said that it is a lukewarm atmosphere. Do you remember the discussions that took place surrounding this? Lukewarm is really here now. This is a lukewarm atmosphere. All of this will not last long; this energy will explode. It’s impossible for this to go away,” the Yerevan city council secretary of the Prosperous Armenia political party, Hripsime Arakelyan, said during a press conference at the Hayeli press club.
Regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife, Anna Hakobyan’s, visit to the US, she said, “I do not want to comment on that woman’s behavior. That is clear to everyone. After her voyage to Moscow, she visited the families of several fallen soldiers, then yesterday, we found out from the media that she went to the US. When was the last time you saw her with her husband? He tried to centralize the entire government around himself as an individual. If her husband is considered legitimate by the people, then I am not able to understand who his wife is in any way.”
Hripsime Arakelyan said that we were deprived of our homeland, we lost our boys, our security, and if this government stays in power for even another hour, that will directly threaten our country. Referring to what happened at the Zvartnots Airport, she said, “See what those people are saying? They’re saying that they believed in the government, but they were lied to. Someone said that they turned us into a Turkish country, so they’re going to find some work to support their families. Yesterday, I read that according to surveys, over 40 percent of the population is preparing to leave Armenia. You can see what kind of disaster this is.”
Regarding Artsrun Hovhannisyan’s statements, Hripsime Arakelyan said, “He asked if anyone could remember where he said that we are winning. Artsrun Hovhannisyan, who spread propaganda that we are winning, asked where we heard him say that we are winning.” She also remembered the conversation she had with Artsrun Hovhannisyan on November 9th. “On the evening of November 9th, Arayik Harutyunyan wrote that Azerbaijan is shelling Stepanakert from Shushi, and then there was his spokesperson’s statement. I took a screenshot of this, and posted on my Facebook, asking if someone could provide an explanation. Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote to me and asked if I could delete my status. I said that the President of Artsakh had provided this information. He said I don’t need to listen to what they’re saying in Artsakh. I asked him what he meant, and he said that a difficult issue is being resolved, heavy battles are taking place… embarrassing. A little while after that, Nikol Pashinyan posted that the tense battles for Shushi continue. And this person is saying that he didn’t say we’re winning, he said that we will win. This is our reality.”
