February 04,2021 13:30

EU NEIGHBOURS . The European Union and The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) have delivered 718 first aid kits that will be used in patrol police and specialised task force cars in the Donbas Main Department of the Ukrainian National Police.

These kits, both regular and specifically designed for emergency situations, will enhance the capacities of the police to effectively administer first aid when needed.

Equipping patrol crews with medical kits is crucial, and even life-saving in many cases,” said Udo Moeller, Head of EU Advisory Mission’s (EUAM) Operations Department. “Serving people on the ground is among the toughest tasks. EUAM stands by its Ukrainian partners in assisting towards the improved efficiency of delivery of their duties.”

The kits  are delivered within the framework of the Support for Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine in the Areas of Police and Public Prosecution and Good Governance (PRAVO Police) programme funded by the European Union and implemented by (UNOPS), in close coordination with the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) to Ukraine.

The overall objective of the programme is to promote the rule of law in Ukraine and to align its functioning with the best European Union and international practices.
