EU NEIGHBOURS. The Council of Europe and the European Union have shared the proposals for future co-operation priorities in the six Eastern Partnership countries submitted through a specially-created ‘Suggestion Box’.
The ‘Suggestion Box’ was opened within the framework of the online event ‘Improving the lives of citizens through better governance’ of the EU-Council of Europe joint programme on Partnership for Good Governance (PGG) 2019-2021. The event took place on 5-7 October 2020 and allowed speakers and participants to exchange about priorities in the region under the PGG Programme.
The ideas shared via the ‘Suggestion Box’ came from a wide range of participants throughout the Council of Europe member States, including public officials, members of parliament and of Non-Governmental Organisations, or individuals. The main areas (fighting economic crime, better justice for citizens, protection against discrimination, ensuring human rights and others) will be considered for future joint co-operation in the Eastern Partnership region.
