During a questions and answers session of parliament, Nazeli Baghdasaryan said that the relatives of soldiers missing in action and prisoners of war in the Shirak Province have closed the state highway and they wish to meet with the prime minister due to their dissatisfaction. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded, “There is not only dissatisfaction in the Shirak Province, but also in the government. We are all dissatisfied. No one is pleased with the current situation.”
He said that he is planning a visit to the Shirak Province soon, where he will meet with citizens, as well as with the relatives of prisoners of war. “I do not need to be reminded about the issues surrounding the prisoners of war. There is no need to protest to motivate us to get to work because those protests are in our heads, our minds, and our hearts. This is the time when we need to lead based on the medical principle of doing no harm. We need to avoid doing harm first.”
The prime minister said that his Russian colleagues are actively involved in this issue. The Russian president also signed the document on November 9th, which mentions the return of prisoners of war, soldiers, and others being held captive.
