The buildings of 13 kindergartens and 14 schools in different administrative districts of Yerevan were inspected. The operative group of the Yerevan Rescue Department led by r/s Colonel Arnold Harutyunyan, 8 employees of the Territorial Seismic
Protection Service and the representatives of Yerevan Municipality visited the educational institutions where certain issues were observed after the earthquake. The studies were implemented for the possibility to receive the children calmly according to the set schedule by the schools and kindergartens after the given professional opinion.
Head of the Seismic Resistance Department of the structures of the Seismic Protection Service of MES noted that the impact of the earthquake on schools and kindergartens in Yerevan was felt only in the form of the cracks on the putty, so assured that it was safe for operation.
Crisis Management National Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received more than 3000 different emergency calls. Relatively significant damage was reported on Aivazovsky street where 9 m2 of the wall of a one-storey building collapsed, 7 m2 of the roof collapsed and 2 m2 of the wall of the building collapsed on Smbat Zoravar street in Yerevan after the earthquake.
