“People, please, I do not want any signs of aggression. We do not have enemies in Armenia. Everyone is our brother,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced via megaphone on Republic Square. He went to be near the people to make calls for peace and was with his son, Ashot Pashinyan. Pashinyan announced that he will provide details at 4 PM.
Along with a large number of police officers, Nikol Pashinyan walked along Amiryan Street, saying, “Dear people, I hope we have already gotten used to the media terror… there are rumors that we have a plane ready to escape. We are here and we will not leave our homeland no matter what… my family is here. To prove it, I will invite my family to join us, too. There are rumors that this rally is for clashes to take place. Clashes cannot take place within Armenia.”
The General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces issued a statement earlier demanding Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation. He posted on Facebook that he considers that to be an attempt at a military coup, and he invited his followers to Republic Square.
