“The time has run out for all consultations. There is only one agenda to speak about: Nikol Pashinyan resigning as soon as possible,” a member of the Homeland Salvation Movement and ARF, Gegham Manukyan, told reporters on Baghramyan Avenue in response to a question about whether or not the opposition sees a possibility of conducting consultations and mutual dialogue with the government, which Nikol Pashinyan spoke about during his rally yesterday.
Upon the observation that the National Assembly extraordinary session did not take place today and if he still believes there is a chance at resolving the issue of parliament, Gegham Manukyan said, “The majority of parliament believes that playing hide-and-seek or hopscotch is the duty of parliament. They can escape, avoid carrying out their responsibilities, and receive bonuses and believe that everything is fine. The people’s patience is running out.”
Gegham Manukyan does not agree with the ruling party’s perspective that the General Staff is trying to get involved in political activities with yesterday’s statement.
“They expressed the position of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, which is based on the security and territorial integrity of the country, as well as public harmony. Onik Gasparyan and other soldiers who make statements also consider that they are responsible for the safety of all of Armenia, as well as the conscription taking place today, because the hateful atmosphere spread by this government impacts everything from the activities of a small kiosk to the organization of military conscription in Armenia,” Gegham Manukyan said.
