In response to a reporter’s question of whether he is with Nikol Pashinyan or the army, My Step deputy Armen Khachatryan said, “First, those generals are not the army, and second, do not separate them from one another. The army is a state institution, generals are officials and individuals. The army will exist without those generals. The General Staff is a state institution no matter who is in it. That doesn’t matter. It isn’t based on generals and individuals.”
Upon the observation that he is with Pashinyan and not the army, Khachatryan said, “I am with the state and the government. First, the army is with Nikol Pashinyan, let me start off with that. The army itself is with Pashinyan, and 40 people do not make up the army. They are commanders of the corps. That is not the army.”
When asked who the army is and if it is Vagharshak Harutyunyan, Armen Khachatryan did not answer, and he closed the door to his office.
