“At the moment, there are nine hospitals treating coronavirus patients. We currently have around 100 free hospital beds, and we are continuing activities to increase this number,” the Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, said during a session of government, noting that everything needs to be done in order to ensure that the number of ill patients does not exceed the hospitals’ capabilities.
According to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, there has been a significant increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
The minister said that 4,285 tests were administered yesterday, of which 748 were positive. According to her, the number of current active cases is 6,772, of which 901 are currently hospitalized.
Nikol Pashinyan said that it is essential to maintain pandemic guidelines as much as possible. “We need to do everything we can to avoid the necessity of lockdown. Please, I ask that our people pay close attention to this issue because everyone’s individual approach will be critical in solving this problem.”
