On March 12, Arsen Sarajyan, the acting Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh and Gegham Stepanyan, Executive Secretary of the Ombudsman’s Staff received the delegation led by Yeghishe Kirakosyan, representative of the Republic of Armenia in the European Court of Human Rights.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of effective cooperation between the two structures since September 27, 2020 during the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh as well as after it which provided an opportunity to raise the issue on the violations of the rights of Artsakh people on international platforms, particularly, in the European Court of Human Rights.
The issue of protecting the rights of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian prisoners and their repatriation was discussed.
Special attention was paid to the protection of the rights of the relatives of the civilian victims and civilian wounded, as well as the work carried out to protect the property rights of displaced persons.
